Hot Dish With The Cold Air

Last Sunday I went to Abroretum, Batu. Well, Batu is a small tourism town near Malang. A little advice for you to wear your jacket when you go there, because the air was cold... and talking about cold air, here was the food I ate yesterday :p
The pictures above was Bakso. Bakso was a meatball that equiepped with gorengan, siomay, and tahu. And the perfect bakso always with hot sauce, fried onions and bihun (it's like limpid noodle but the texture was so smooth) . Could you imagine how special that dish was when you ate it with the cold air. I said it was the best way to warm up my self at the time hehe.
And It's me at Abroretum, Batu. The place was so green and fresh, great place to be a photograpy location. I bet you would back there after come :D

Japanese Table Manner

Realizing that my blog talk out loud about fashion and food, I decide to investigate the etiquette booth of them. You will always know that people in various parts of the world have different etiquette and it's interested thing to be known. Yeah, I would like to write it.... Starting with this Japanese table manner following :)

On the Japanese food table, you should set the chopsticks in front of you horizontally. Make sure your bowl close to your mouth when you eat rice. It's a polite way to eat, I think that it's avoiding the grain of rice falls. You may sipping the soup to describe how delicious that food is. Before dinner, just give 5 minutes to have a little conversation in Japanese language then say "Ita-da-ki-masu" which has same meaning with 'Bon Appetite". And when you done, you should say "Go-chiso-sama" which means thanks for the dish. Beside that, you should return the chopsticks like before.

You would never do those following :
  • Talking with unclear topic
  • Sniffing in front of Japanese
  • Licking the chopsticks and stabbing the foods by it, because that will give the impression of not appreciate the foods

Wedding Dish

Last Monday, my mom madeup the bride. Yup!!! My mom is a make up artist, and I helped her to makeup a little girl. After the bride dressed up beautifully and did some traditional ceremony called temu manten... It was time to eat the wedding dish!!! FYI, the good for helping my mom in every wedding is I can taste foods I want, moreover if the foods are set on the buffet layout hehe :p

Well, you know, people have their own typical foods to fete the invitee in a wedding. In my dad's hometown (Kraksaan - Probolinggo) and several region of Java, people will set Rawon and Podeng on their table. Rawon is traditional Indonesian black beef soup with the strong rich taste. What makes this piquant soup becoming black is kluwek, a picung's fruit that made this dish become so Indonesia. You will find this dish with a plate of rice with the tasty crunchy Kerupuk Udang. And always not forget with the spicy Sambal Bajak and small sprouts.
Here's the picture of rawon, taken from Irene's, with no more kerupuk udang :p
But I didn't forget to capture a plate of podeng. Yeah, as you see, it consisted of green kolang-kaling, pineapple, pudding, syrup with a little bit splash of milk on the crumble ice. What's that? I call it puuurrrfeto!
You might be known that all of the ingredients of podeng except kolang-kaling. Kolang-kaling is actually an oval white fruit of aren's tree. Yeah, you know, people like to embellish its color to enchat everyone (I think). At podeng dish, I often to know kolang-kaling in green or red. It's elastic enough and always being a complement of some fresh beverage in Indonesia, like podeng and es campur. Well, I think I have owed to you to write a posting about es campur then hehe :p

The Fashion Legend

As I read on Tavi's web, I already knew that she loved Iris Apfel and Anna Piaggi. They''re a fashion legend, with the kinda brave style and sometimes too geek... but they're scarce fabulous :D

Ok we start from Iris Apfel, a 93-year-old-New Yorker, known as fashion legends who release clothes and jewelries. FYI, she also launched shoe line. Well, her style is actually simple and elegant... but what makes her interesting style is the jewerely, I think :)
Her fashion character is on the glasses and accessories.

Her top is appetizing! :p

And tadaaaa.... the next fashion legend :

Anna Piaggi was Italian fashion writer and also the eccentric style icon. She dead two years ago with the age of 81 years old. She was famous for not wearing the same outfit twice. When I browsed her style, I found her makeup was always with red lips and one eye. Yeah, people need to dress up by their own style to shout out who they are.

From two pictures above, I want her top!!!

This is her best style for me. I want her outfit!

And this last picture, you must know that she's not Ms Piaggi hehe :p

Fashion Trick : For The Pear Girl

I think loin harem pants is the best choose to trick the girl with wide hip (I call it as the pear girl). And its material would be awesome if we choose fabric falls because it follows the shape your body. FYI that the key to fashion a pear girl is using fabric falls material for the bottom, the rigid material would just emphasize your hip. Beside that, using big motif bottom or some cute unique will deceive the eye, so everyone will just focus to glance your motif bottom or or your belt.
